Art Interactive highlights a guest artist’s story and creative process, and how they connect with others. After a brief presentation, the guest artist will lead attendees in an activity to further explore their artistic approach.
Admission is free, but registration is required. These programs are for adults and teens 13+.

Plein Air Painting with Angela Sung

Location: Program begins in the Brand Library Recital Hall for the presentation and then will move outside to the Brand Plaza for the activity
In this session of Art Interactive, get to know featured artist Angela Sung. Learn about Angela’s role in the animation industry as well as how the Warrior Painters community came to be! Angela will then lead a plein air painting activity where participants can learn to paint complex scenes with speed and confidence.
Please be advised that the activity portion of the program takes place outdoors. All art supplies will be provided, but we highly encourage attendees to bring their own folding chair or picnic blanket to sit on, and a clipboard/hard surface to work from.
About the Artist:
Angela Sung is a designer, painter, visdev artist and art director in animation. With over 14 years of experience in the animation industry, Angela has worked with major studios such as Sony Pictures Animation, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, Blur Studio, Netflix Animation, DreamWorks Animation, Nickelodeon Animation Studio, among others. Currently, Angela is an Art Director on an unannounced feature film at Sony. Co-founder of Warrior Painters and Warrior Art Camp, she is dedicated to promoting artistry and education in the entertainment industry.
Lettering with Emmanuel Sevilla

Location: Program presentation and activity will take place in the Brand Library Recital Hall
In this session of Art Interactive, join featured artist Emmanuel Sevilla as he shares about his diverse work across the fields of lettering, calligraphy, sign painting and painting. Emmanuel will then teach participants how to create Roman calligraphic letters using unique techniques and accessible materials such as pencils and rubber bands. All supplies will be provided.
About the Artist:
Emmanuel Sevilla earned his BFA from Otis College of Art and Design, MFA from California College of the Arts, and was tradesman certified in Sign Graphics at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College. He has exhibited work in New York, Maine, Los Angeles and the Bay Area. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles teaching full-time at LATTC instructing in the areas of sign making, sign painting and mural painting.
